Coco's delight
care package initiative
,I started my Care Package Initiative a year before COVID-19. It was created to help those who are in need of a smile, hug, positivity, happiness, faith, hope, healing and most of all some LOVE. My packages are like medicine for the soul, that made many hearts smile and feel special. It helps to take a person away from a dark place and an empty feeling; to a place of happiness, filled with gratitude and positive emotions. I've seen many frowns turn into smiles and sad days turn into joyful experiences.
After COVID-19 I decided to open up my Care Package Initiative to all First Responders. I started to make care package donations for nurses, EMT workers, doctors, retail/supermarket workers, and hospitals in the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn. I also decided to make monetary donations abroad for those who were experiencing hardship due to the devastating impact of COVID-19. I also added PPE items to almost all Care Packages since it's an every day necessity and very expensive for many.
This was my way of paying it forward to not just my community, family and friends; but to all who matter and are making a positive difference in the world. When I lost my job four years ago, it was difficult to keep up with helping all who reached out; so a dear friend advised me to make a donation page so other's can help me continue helping others and not weigh so heavy on my situation. I'm filled with gratitude for all who supported and continue to make donations. Your help keeps my initiative going, my dream alive and my heart with a big smile.
