Coco: The Author
About the Author
Keisha Molby-Baez, born in Kingston, Jamaica, W.I., mixed with Indian and Costa Rican, raised and residing in Bronx, N.Y. She’s also known as Coco, who’s an author, poet, writer, motivational speaker, curator, workshop facilitator, community activist, wife, mother, chef and Unites States veteran.
She worked within many different fields, which mold her into the helpful, caring, loving, humble, sweet, resourceful, supportive and for-the-people person that she is today. Keisha’s committed to be the change she wants to see in the world. She serves the people through her first poetry books, curating her Coco’s Delight events, her arts showcase and her Mind Over Matter workshops.
Keisha found her purpose through creative writing in middle school and uses her poetry as a platform for community building and self-expressions. She’s determined to share her life’s journey through her books and performances. Her struggles encourage her each day to rise, each time she feels weighed down by all the negatives and daily setbacks. From it all, she learned to register her pains as pleasures, managing to master mind over matter.
Her first book “Tears Laced With Fire” is a self-empowering poetry book that is about truth, endurance, family, relationships, struggles, loss, relentlessness, passion, survival, and self-love. Her Mind Over Matter workshops teaches you how to replace your negatives with positives, turn your pains into passions; while creating a mental and physical safe.
Keisha created Coco’s Delight and curated Poetry nights at The South of France, which helped the poetic scene in the Bronx; by offering a stage and platform for all artists to share their work, events, books, artwork and projects. Her events are unique and full of love. She’s also known for her famous “Raffle of Gratitude”, in which she awards everyone a gift of appreciation at the end of each event. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience you won’t forget and will certainly enjoy.
She’s been recognized for being a great curator, supporter and producer for her community. She enjoys writing, drawing, painting, reading, attending open mic’s, empowering events, listening to music, playing softball and spending quality time with her family and friends. Keisha has incredible energy, a lovely inner light and a raw-truth style that captivates her audience and community.
